I've been working on this for a while, as anyone who follows my blog would know. I finally finished it this morning and I'm pretty happy with it.
As usual, I was working on a lot of things I didn't quite know how to portray, but I think I managed all right. I like the light rays, but I still get the feeling the mood isn't exactly what I wanted... Maybe more contrast between the light and the rest of the image would have been better, but I really don't plan to edit it now.
I left some of my line art in, I didn't forget it was there, I just kind of wanted to see if the roughness it added looked alright in the piece. Guess I'll come back to it in a week and see if I still like it.
Either way, it's nice to have it done.

Two deviations in a pretty short amount of time. You either have been inspired or got too much time in your hands. Anyway, let's get down to it.
I enjoy and envy your background work. That depth is great, also very detailed. The lightrays are very soothing and gives the forest even more depth.
I'm not so sure about the creature though. The articulation of its ankles is a bit too big. Also, its thighs are too visible for someone so small... unless it's quite fat.
Since this is a mythical creature, I'm not sure to what extent that is how it is supposed to look.
Haha I don't have that much time, this one I had been working on for weeks, while the other one was much simpler so it only took two days, not full days mind you.
Backgrounds always take me forever so I'm so happy you like it.
Hmm, yes I had to do quite a bit of guessing on her. Thanks for the feedback on her proportions.
Hey, I like it! The tad bit of extra sharp detail from the lines gives it an interesting feel, overall a good one, I'd say.
I might consider adding a fog effect or something in the background, mainly because you won't get nice, sharp beams of sunlight like that in clear air.

haha true, but still, some fog would be a nice addition to the moody also... I'll have to see if there is some way to put it in without the scene looking like a swamp...

Anyway, let's get down to it.

Anyhow, you did a very good job. Keep it up!
